001 / Custom ERP development

Custom ERP development for teams that run NetSuite and a spreadsheet.

We build one system for orders, stock, payments and shipping, on servers you control, so your team stops re-keying data between NetSuite and spreadsheets. You get a free written fit check first and a fixed quote before any build. On our first NetSuite replacement, a US wholesale business went from first commit to go-live in about five months, and it has run on the new system since July 2026.

002 / Build or buy: a quick test

When a custom ERP beats buying one.

Build if

Your team works around NetSuite

Your team pays for seats and still keeps spreadsheets beside it. We rebuild sales orders, items, vendors and customers around the way you work, then keep NetSuite read-only for the old records.

Build if

Inventory cost has to be exact

Stock is valued in FIFO cost layers, and the on-hand quantity has to equal the open layers at all times. Before every release a script checks that it does, and the release stops if the numbers differ.

Build if

Several channels share one stock

When the web store and each marketplace keep their own stock count, they drift apart. The ERP holds the one count they all read; in our NetSuite replacement, Shopify stock updates from it every 10 minutes.

Buy if

A package fits with light setup

If NetSuite, Odoo or another package fits your process with light configuration, buying is often cheaper than building. The fit check says so in writing, and we do not quote a build you do not need.

Two operations systems in use today.

We keep client names private. Every figure below comes from the systems’ own records. Screens we share use synthetic data.

NetSuite replacement · US wholesale business

Orders, stock, payments and shipping in one system

A US wholesale business ran on NetSuite. Since the July 2026 go-live, the system we built is its system of record, and NetSuite is kept read-only for history.

  • First commit in February 2026, go-live in July 2026.
  • Order entry, card payments, shipping labels, returns, quotes, credit memos, approvals and a sales call queue with each customer’s order history.
  • Inventory valued in FIFO cost layers. Before every release, a script checks that on-hand stock equals the sum of the open layers; the check requires zero drift.
  • Scheduled jobs sync the marketplace, shipment tracking, email marketing and CRM tools. Shopify stock updates every 10 minutes, and QuickBooks Online is connected.
  • The July 2026 release passed 2,397 automated tests.
  • It runs on the company’s own server, with separate sandbox and production databases.

Reporting and CRM · US consumer-health brand

Retail and distributor data in one place

A consumer-health brand kept its retail and distributor numbers in vendor exports and hand-kept workbooks. We built one database and web app that refresh those feeds every week.

    • 121 tables and about 1.24 million rows, measured in September 2026.
    • Distributor purchase lines matched to the outlets they ship to, with duplicates merged.
    • A reorder-prediction CRM built on the brand’s Sage 100 data.
    • Sign-in by emailed one-time code, and weekly jobs that refresh the outside data sources.

We do not name either client in public. Screens we share use synthetic data, never their customers, products or prices.

Stuck halfway with another developer? We can take over an unfinished system instead of starting again.

003 / How we build it

Run the old system until the new one matches.

      01

      Free written fit check

Tell us what you run today, how many people use it and roughly how many orders you handle a month. Within one business day we reply in writing: build, buy or stay put, what we would build first, the integrations it needs and what discovery costs.

      02

Scoped discovery, then a fixed quote

The fit check tells you what discovery costs before you commit. In discovery we map your workflows, data and integrations and agree what moves first. You get a written scope, a fixed quote for the build and a schedule before any build starts.

      03

      Build alongside, then switch

We build in stages while your current ERP keeps running, move the data, check it against the old system and switch over when the numbers match. The old system stays read-only for history, and later changes or support run on a care plan or by quote.

Tell us what you run today.

Name the current system, the number of users and your monthly order volume. That is enough for the fit check.

      004 / What you get

What you get at each step.

      • A written fit check within one business day, including when not to build
      • A written scope, fixed quote and schedule before the build
      • Data moved from your current ERP and checked against it before the switch
      • Automated tests and a sandbox copy for every release
      • Code in your repository, running on servers you control, with handover documentation
005 / Who it is for

      Wholesale, distribution and ecommerce teams.

Our ERP work is for wholesale and distribution businesses, multi-channel ecommerce sellers and brands that sell through retailers, in the US, UK, EU and Australia. If you only need two systems connected, say so in the brief. That is a smaller job than a new ERP.

      007 / FAQ

Questions we get before people start.

      What is a custom ERP?

Software built for one company to run its core operations: orders, inventory, purchasing, payments, shipping and the link to accounting. Its screens and rules are written for that company’s own workflow.

When should we build a custom ERP instead of buying one?

When your team keeps spreadsheets beside the ERP, pays for modules it does not use, or needs a workflow the package cannot model without workarounds. If a packaged ERP fits your process with light configuration, buying is often cheaper, and the fit check will say so.

How much does a custom ERP cost?

The fit check is free. We quote a fixed price after the scoped discovery, because the modules, integrations and data migration decide the work. There is no standard package price.

What decides the cost of a custom ERP?

Mostly five things: how many modules you need on day one (orders, inventory, purchasing, returns), how many systems it has to sync with, how much history moves across, how many roles and approval steps there are, and the reports people rely on. After launch the running cost is the server plus any changes or care plan you choose, with no per-seat licence.

How long does a custom ERP take?

We agree the schedule in the scope, so yours depends on your modules and data. For reference, one NetSuite replacement went from first commit to go-live in about five months, with the old system running alongside until the switch. That is one project, not a standard turnaround.

Can you move our data out of NetSuite?

Yes. We move sales orders, items, vendors and customers, and keep NetSuite read-only for history after the switch. In our NetSuite replacement we repaired 27,667 sales-rep attribution records and checked them against live NetSuite queries.

Do you work with QuickBooks and Sage?

Yes. Our NetSuite replacement is connected to QuickBooks Online, and we built a reorder-prediction CRM on a brand’s Sage 100 data. You can keep your accounting, CRM and email tools. The ERP syncs with them on a schedule, so nobody copies exports by hand.

Who owns the code and the data?

You do. We work in your repository and on servers you control. Once the work is paid for, the code we write for your project is yours under our terms.
